Beef with Spices

You can also make this recipe with chicken; it will be equally delicious.

Ingredients

• 900g (about 2 lbs) of beef, cut into cubes
• 4 tablespoons of olive oil
• 2 onions, sliced into half-moons
• 2 dessert spoons of curry powder
• 1 teaspoon of turmeric
• 1 teaspoon of ground ginger
• 1 teaspoon of paprika
• 1 teaspoon of cumin
• 1 chili pepper
• 1 teaspoon of cornstarch (maizena)
• 400 ml (about 1.7 cups) of beef broth (1 beef cube + 400 ml of hot water)
• Salt, to taste

   Season the beef with a bit of salt and mix well.

   In a pot, heat the olive oil and sauté the onions.
   Stir and allow to fry slightly.
   Add the beef and let it brown a bit.

   Add the turmeric, paprika, ground ginger, cumin, curry, and chili pepper.
   Stir and pour in the beef broth.
   Cover and let it cook for approximately 40 minutes until the beef becomes tender.
   If the sauce dries out too much, add a little water.

   Dissolve the cornstarch in a little water.
   When the beef is tender, add the dissolved cornstarch.
   Stir and bring to a boil.
   Once it starts to bubble, it is ready to serve.

   Serve this dish with white rice.
