Apple Dreams

As Christmas approaches, traditional seasonal desserts like fried sweets start to appear.
These delicious apple dreams are not only easy and quick to make, but they are also extremely tasty.
The acidity of the apple provides a great contrast, making these sweets light and refreshing.
Any type of apple can be used.

Ingredients

• 2 apples, peeled and chopped into small pieces
• 3 eggs
• 50 g (1.8 oz) of sugar
• 250 g (8.8 oz) of plain flour
• 80 ml (2.7 fl oz) of milk
• 2 teaspoons of baking powder
• Zest of 1 lemon
• A pinch of salt
• Juice of ½ lemon
• Sugar, for dusting
• Cinnamon powder
• Oil, for frying

Instructions

   Drizzle the chopped apples with lemon juice.

   In a bowl, break the eggs.
   Add the 50 g of sugar, a pinch of salt, lemon zest, milk, ½ teaspoon of cinnamon powder, flour, and baking powder.
   Beat until the mixture is smooth.
   Add the chopped apples to the batter and mix well with a spoon.

   Fry spoonfuls of the batter in hot oil.
   Keep the heat medium to ensure the dreams are fried inside without browning too much.
   Turn them over so they brown evenly.
   Once fried, use a slotted spoon to transfer the dreams to a plate lined with paper towels.

   In a dish, mix some sugar with a bit of cinnamon to taste.
   Dust the fried dreams with the sugar and cinnamon mixture.
   Serve them on a serving plate.
