Turkey Steaks Pizzaiolo Style

These steaks are perfect for pizza lovers and those looking for a low-carb meal.
The chouriço and bacon can be substituted with other ingredients to taste, just like on a pizza.
You can also make this recipe with chicken steaks.

Ingredients

• 6 large turkey steaks
• 6 tablespoons of olive oil
• 3 cloves of garlic, minced
• 8 tablespoons of tomato puree
• 1 teaspoon of honey
• Dried oregano leaves
• 300 g (10.5 oz) of grated mozzarella cheese
• 12 slices of chouriço
• 12 small slices of bacon
• Pitted black olives, or with pits
• Salt
• 5-pepper blend

Instructions

   Season the turkey steaks on both sides with salt and pepper.

   In a small frying pan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
   Add the garlic and let it warm up a bit.
   Without letting the garlic brown, mix in the tomato puree.
   Stir.
   Season with salt and bring to a boil.
   As soon as it starts bubbling, add the honey.
   Finally, season with dried oregano leaves and set aside.

   In a large ovenproof dish, brush with the remaining olive oil.

   Spread the turkey steaks evenly in the dish.
   Cover the steaks with the tomato sauce and spread it with a brush.
   Sprinkle the steaks with grated cheese.
   On top, distribute the chouriço slices, bacon, and olives to taste.

   Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F) and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
   When the steaks are cooked and the cheese is golden brown, remove from the oven.
   Sprinkle everything with dried oregano leaves and serve.
